Temples devoted to various deities are a staple of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons adventures. They are a place where a character or whole party might be able to recover from their injuries by use of healing magic. Some temples charge fees for their services, some do not - this is at the designer's discretion. Some temples allow donations to be made, and after a certain point (determined by designer) the party may be rewarded by the temple priests.
Here's the standard temple interface upon entering the establishment:

HEAL - displays a submenu that llows access to a list of healing spells the temple has to offer to aid injured party members - cost of spells is determined by the designer - HEAL submenu
DONATE - slected character can give money to the temple if the designer allows it - may lead to a reward or information from the temple, at the designer's discretion
VIEW - opens the selected PCs character view
POOL - money from all party members is put into a pool for any to use
    EXIT - leave the temple

    If POOL was used:

TAKE - selected character may take money, gems or jewels that have been pooled and put it directly into her own account
SHARE - pooled money, gems and jewelry is divided equally among party members

    If HEAL is selected

CAST - presents a list of spells that may be cast on the selected character - spell list is determined by the designer
APPR - for a small fee, determines the value of gems or jewelry
