The Design Editor: Level
Level ListThis option opens a window with the list of levels for design and allows you to set properties for each and select the current level to work on. The Level List may also be opened by using the keyboard short-cut CTRL+L.
Wall SlotsThe wall slots option opens the Wall Editor which the designer uses to import the graphics for the various walls she will use in the current level. The Wall Editor may also be opened with the keyboard short-cut CTRL+W. This does not allow for the placement of walls.
Backdrop SlotsThis option opens the Backdrop Editor which allows the designer to import the graphics for the various backdrops she will use in the current level. This editor may also be accessed by using the keyboard short-cut CTRL+B. This editor does not allow the placement of backdrops.
ZonesChoosing this option opens the zone data editor that allows the designer to define the zones she will use for the current level. This editor does not allow the placement of zones.
Entry PointsBy selecting this option, the designer may set up to 8 Entry Points for the current level that may be referred to in events instead of using x,y coordinates. This editor does not allow the placement of Entry Points by use of the map or 3D view, but does allow placement by direct entering of coordinates.
Step EventsThis option opens the Step Event window that allows the designer to set the number of steps in a given zone or zones for an event to occur. The designer may choose more than one zone to count towards the activation of the Step Event.
Event EditorThis selection opens the Event Editor. This editor may also be accessed via the keyboard short-cut CTRL+E.
Show AccessThe show access option presents a color-coded display of access for the current level. To use this feature, you must be in Wall Placement mode (see above).
Access OptionsThis option allows the designer to define the color scheme for the Show Access option listed above.
Clear LevelThis selection clears the current level in the same manner that the clear design option does for the entire design. Be very careful when using this, it will remove all walls, backdrops, zones, events, entry points and starting point from your entire level.
Undo LastThis option allows the designer to undo the last thing she did. The keyboard short-cut for this feature is CTRL+Z.
Validate LevelThis option looks at the design’s events and databases and checks to see if all are complete and valid. If some of the details are incomplete or invalid, they are logged in the file “Verify.txt” which appears in the design’s folder.
Log Event TextWhen this option is chosen, the editor exports the text from global events and from the events of the current level to text files in the design’s folder. The files are named “Global_Textlog.txt” and “Levelxxx_Textlog.txt”, where xxx is the level number.
Fill Unused MapThis selection brings up a sub-menu for current backdrop, which in turn brings up the options to have the current backdrop placed on either the North Only, East Only, South Only, West Only, or All Facings. These options are only available if in the place backdrops mode (see above). If used, map cells that do not contain a backdrop will be filled in with the current backdrop per the choice made.
