    3D View

To place backdrops in the 3D view, you move around as if you were playing the game and use the “Place Backdrop” button to place the backdrop in the currently occupied square.

The same backdrop will be placed on all four sides of the square, unless you use Mode/Editor Option to uncheck the box “Place Background on all four sides of map cell”. If you choose to uncheck this, you may then place the backdrop on any of the four sides by facing in the direction that you wish to place the current backdrop and clicking the “Place Backdrop” button.

    2D Map

There are two basic methods to place backdrops in the 2D map. You may use the left mouse button to place a backdrop in a given square by clicking the square. Alternatively, you may hold down the left mouse button and drag your cursor across the squares you wish to place the backdrop in.

The same backdrop will be placed on all four sides of the square, unless you use Mode/Editor Option to uncheck the box “Place Background on all four sides of map cell”. If you choose to uncheck this, you may then place the backdrop on any of the four sides by clicking closest to that border.

    Fill Unused Map/Fill All

In the Level menu the bottom two options allow the designer to place the current backdrops in all used or unused map squares, or just on one side – North, East, South, West – of all used or unused map squares.
